Career Overview

I come from a family with construction background; I am a structural engineer with almost 8 years’ experience in different fields of civil/structural engineering and construction in Australia and overseas. I have extensive working on wide range of projects such as commercial, residential and industrial. During these years I have tried to complete tasks as best quality as possible within estimated timeframe. Efficiency, practicality, optimum cost design and on time delivery are the factors which I have always considered in my career as an engineer. Senior Structural Engineer/Estimator: MTG Civil (www.mtgcivil.com.au) Sydney, NSW           (Sep2015-Present)   
As a senior structural engineer and estimator my responsibilities were included but not limited to:
Ø  Prepared structural design for retaining structures such as soldier piles, contiguous piles, secant piles walls, sheet piles, anchored walls, ground anchors, rock bolts, soil nails, capping beam, shotcrete and strutted excavation and comparing which method is the most feasible, time and cost efficient for the assigned projects
Ø  Undertook design reviews and doing value engineering (budget-saving analysis)
Ø  Took the lead in helping structural drafters to draft precise drawings with maximum attention to details and construction stages
Ø  Attended to sites to inspect steel fixing and strip drains installation, concrete poure, anchor stressing, concrete piles finish quality control and grout check
Ø  Prepared cost estimation and tender documents and submitted the best option to clients
Ø  Liaised with clients, subcontractors and other authorities such as DBYD

Ø  211-215 Canterbury Rd, Canterbury, NSW-residential development_ Design and construction of shoring system for three basement level located adjacent to the Cooks river, including soldier piles, capping beam, shotcrete wall and ground anchors
Ø  Glenmore Park Shopping Centre, Penrith, NSW_ Construction and supervising of 900mm foundation piles (Friction and end bearing piles), spaced 600 mm shoring piles, capping beam, shotcrete and ground anchors for single basement car park
Ø  39 Coulson St. Erskineville, NSW-residential development_ Design and construction of shoring system for single and double basement in sandy ground with high ground water level, including sheet piles, shotcrete walls, ground anchors and screw piles

As a member of the structural team my responsibilities were included but not limited to:

Key responsibilities

Ø  Undertook detail structural design of residential, commercial, retail and institutional  in accordance with Building Code of Australia( BCA), and related Australian Standards including; AS 1170, AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 1684.
Ø  Liaised with clients
Ø  Some of the projects with Inter Engineering:
Ø  Prepared structural design and structural drafting of Christmas Island Senior Citizen Hall. Structure was combined of steel columns, beams and a retaining wall for supporting adjuring land
Ø  Provided structural design of a Warehouse for 777 Maintaince Services. Timber framed structure and HOPLEYS Truss system, Beeliar, Perth
Ø  Retaining wall design, including double layer cavity fill, lime stone and gabion. And fine cement injection on border line prior to excavation. Trigg, Perth
Ø  Structural design of three stories residential. Structure was combination of masonry walls  steel columns and beams and in-situ suspended concrete slab and steel truss roof, Mullaloo, Perth
Ø  Undertook structural design of several single story of residential buildings in Perth.

As a structural engineer my responsibilities were included but not limited to:

Key responsibilities

Ø  Undertook detail design of Steel Structure for jaw crushers, conveyors and ROM Bins, including report and drawings, estimated quantities, prepared construction method report for Nimba Iron Ore Project, 15 Mtpa
Ø  I have designed various steel and concrete structures for an in-house modular gold plant, including: ROM bins, Milling and leaching area steel structures, Crusher steel structures, Cyclone towers, Conveyors, Trestles and take up towers, Equipment foundations, Workshop and ware house saloons and stockpile covering steel structure
Ø  Liaised with other disciplines like mechanical, electrical and piping engineers to understand their requirement for this modification
Ø  Communicated with client and people on site as well as site visiting to make sure our input for existing structures is correct
Ø  Set out the design procedure, ways of approach and estimation of required time
Ø  Communicated with Geotechnical experts to select a proper foundation system
Ø  Liaised with drafting team and providing sketches of connections and complicated parts for drafting team
Ø  Checked the final drawings for the consistency of design and drawings as well as other disciplines requirements

Ø  Technical supervisor of and member of design team of Elizeh residential tower with 20 story, Building Area=31,800 m2, budget for the project $US 38,000,000

Ø  Received a significant pay rise because for preparing assignments ahead of time and cutting costs
